1947 Harley Davidson EL Knucklehead

$31600.00
$900
Fairbanks, AK 99709

Description

I purchased this Knucklehead in 2012. It was in use until the late 60\'s, and then stored in a North Dakota farm shed for decades. It is mostlry original components except for the early Panhead rear fender that was put on when the bike was repainted decades ago. The stainless fender trim was added to the Panhead fender. I had the bike gone through mechanically by Jim Long in 2013. Engine and transmission were rebuilt along with hubs, fork, etc. New Coker Firestone Champion tires were added. I left it alone cosmetically. It has an awesome \'barn fresh\' look that everyone loves. I rode it quite a bit each summer until recently. Life changes have resulted in it seeing limited use the last 2 years. I fired it up and took a 10 mile ride last weekend. It starts easily and rides fine. It\'s due for a good tune up, and it\'s a typical old harley. It barks, belches and leaves its fair share of oil stains. Everything works. Lights, speedometer, horn, etc. The saddle bags are original 1947 Loctites. They are getting pretty brittle and are in pretty rough condition, but they match the cosmetic condition of the bike. Seat is an early OEM Harley seat, but a bit later than 1947 as it is not an open seam.
